19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his initial championship for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.

Victory also means he has won twenty-one championships at 21 various events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet saved four early chances in a close third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
